グローバルスタディーズ専攻の3つの重点研究領域 GS 3 Concentrations

概要
 グローバルスタディーズ専攻では、学生がグローバリゼーションの諸問題の調査、コミュニケーションや芸術創作の過程の理解、さらに将来のグローバル社会の形成への主体的な参加を可能にするために必要な英語力、メディア・リテラシー、異文化理解力を身につけることを目的とした多様かつ幅広いカリキュラムを提供しています。

Overview
The Global Studies Program provides students with a diverse and wide-ranging curriculum through which to explore the challenges of globalization, to develop their understanding of processes of communication and the creative arts, and to gain the English language competencies, media literacies, and cultural navigational skills required to play an active role in shaping the global societies of the future.

  1. 国際関係学

    国際関係学 Global Relations

    国際関係学の分野では、地域社会や国民国家、そして、さらに広域な地域や国際的なレベルにおいて権益がどのように絡み合っているかを、政治学の手法を用いて考えることが求められます。授業では、越境的な問題に取り組み、グローバル市民学を考察し、地球の未来を構想するために制度的枠組みの理解を深めることに重点を置いています。
    The Global Relations concentration requires students to consider how local, national, regional, and international interests are intertwined, using the tools of political science. Courses will focus on building understanding of the institutional frameworks for addressing transnational issues, unpacking global civics, and envisioning global futures.

  2. グローバル・コミュニケーション学

    グローバル・コミュニケーション学 Global Communication Studies

    応用言語学を学術的基盤として、グローバル・コミュニケーション学では、人々がどのように自らの考えや情報を交換し、また今日のグローバル化した世界においてどのように心理的、対人的、社会的、政治的、環境的、あるいは技術的な背景がコミュニケーションの力学に影響を与えているかを探求します。
    With applied linguistics as its disciplinary foundation, Global Communication Studies explores how human beings exchange ideas and informat ion and how psychological and interpersonal, social and political, environmental and technological contexts influence the dynamics of communication in todayʼs globalized world.

  3. グローバル文化論

    グローバル文化論 Global Cultural Studies

    グローバル文化論では、国境を越えて生み出された文化的産物や慣行を批判的に考える思考力を育みます。この分野の授業では人種、ジェンダー、セクシュアリティなどについて理解を深め、さらに日本文化の諸相をグローバルな視点から考察します。
    The Global Cultural Studies concentration trains students to critically analyze cultural products and practices that have transcended national borders. Courses in this concentration will also foster a deeper understanding of race, gender, and sexuality from a global perspective, in addition to familiarizing students with cross-cultural perspectives on Japan.
