Parallel Degree Programme (PDP) between University of London and Musashi University

A first in Japan! An international program that allows you to earn a degree from the University of London. Learn world-class economics on your own campus.

All new students in the EM major School of Liberal Arts and Sciences can take the PDP. Students first hone their English skills in classes and through English training abroad or in Japan from April to July of their first year. After that, they take the IELTS test, and if they achieve a score of 5.5 or higher, they will take four IFP (Foundational Faculty Program) subjects at the University of London from September. If they pass the final exam of the IFP, they can take the BSc (Specialized Faculty Program) from September of their second year. They will study 12 subjects over three years and pass the annual exams to obtain a degree from the University of London. These subjects are taught in English by faculty from Musashi University, and are also recognized as credits for Musashi University degree. Depending on their grades, scholarships will be provided for the costs of taking classes at the University of London and English training.

Students will study in Japan for about four years and one month, aiming to obtain degrees from Musashi University and the University of London. All classes are small, so each student can actively participate in class discussions and gain a deeper understanding as they progress through their studies.

What is University of London?

The University of London is a world-class university comprising multiple colleges and research institutes. The London School of Economics (LSE), which is famous in Japan, is also one of the colleges that make up the University of London.
The PDP allows students to take a BSc from the University of London at the same time while attending a Musashi University and obtain a bachelor's degree from both universities. The University of London and LSE control the quality of the teaching content. According to the lesson outline provided by LSE at the University of London, Musashi University faculty will give lectures in English.
