Department of Socio-Media Studies Media Production Course
Graduated from Kanagawa Prefectural Kanagawa Comprehensive High School

I've loved making things, such as writing scripts since I was in junior high school. I was also interested in art, music, and video production, so I applied to Department of Socio-Media Studies, which offers a wide range of learning opportunities and a lot of practical training.

Second Year

Gain knowledge and learn analytical methods to study the music you love

I chose Minamida's "sociology of music" seminar because I wanted to research internet music, which I'm interested in. In the spring semester, I read specialized books on the sociology of music, summarized each chapter individually, and discussed key points. In the fall semester, I conducted a questionnaire survey on the theme of "Music fans' awareness and behavior x life satisfaction" and learned how to process and analyze the data obtained using statistical software. I had some difficulties in finding data to support my predicted answers, but on the other hand, I discovered the fun of digging into new possibilities.

Third Year

Gaining research experience through mini-research and starting preparations for graduation thesis

Now, in Minamida's seminar, we are still sharing ideas for our graduation thesis and mini-research projects. My mini-research project was about Vocaloid, and I conducted a survey on encounters with Vocaloid at live venues. I plan to narrow down my thesis topic to topics such as "otaku psychology" and "deification of artists" while examining the impression and influence that masked artists have on their fans and the relationship between artists and fans.

The free spaces located in various places on campus are very comfortable, and I use them to work on ideas for my thesis during free time between classes.
