School of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Characteristics of School of Liberal Arts and Sciences

  1. Faculty members who learn from and know the world

In order to provide a world-class learning experience in Japan, we have gathered faculty members with a wide range of specialized fields from Japan and overseas, including those with degrees from overseas universities, and provide thorough small-group education. Each faculty member's classes also support interactive and active learning, such as discussions and fieldwork, just like at universities overseas.

  2. Learn in English

Classes are mainly conducted in English, so students can acquire practical and advanced English language skills. In order to make it possible to take these classes, each department also offers an intensive curriculum aimed at improving English language skills. We provide opportunities to broaden your horizons by experiencing different cultures, as well as improving your language skills, through overseas training, study abroad, and internships.

Economics, Management and International Relations (EMIR Major)

Parallel Degree Program (PDP) to study world-class economics, business administration, and international relations and pursue a degree at the University of London.

In parallel with a Musashi University degree, we will develop high-quality classes in small groups, based on the PDP aimed at obtaining a degree from the University of London. While in Japan, we not only acquire world-class knowledge of economics, management, and international relations, but also develop global human resources with high English proficiency and culture. Students will develop a multifaceted perspective on cross-border economic partnerships and global social issues, and aim to obtain a bachelor's degree from the University of London.

Business Data Science Program (BDS Major)

Parallel Degree Programme (PDP) to learn how to analyze big data about business and pursue a degree at the University of London

The curriculum is based on the PDP alongside the Musashi University degree and the University of London degree, with a focus on statistics and data science. While in Japan, students will not only acquire world-class data science knowledge, but also develop global human resources who possess high English proficiency and education, as well as statistical and econometric methods necessary for data analysis, and aim to obtain a bachelor's degree from the University of London.
* Business Data Science Program is scheduled to open in FY2027.

Global Studies Program (GS Major)

Developing the ability to live in a global society through English and cross-cultural experiences

We provide liberal arts education in English that challenges cross-border issues. Students will study the three fields (history and politics, language and representation, and society and culture) across disciplines, develop communication skills, critical thinking, and global literacy, and develop an international perspective and collaborative problem-solving skills.
