School of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Characteristics of School of Liberal Arts and Sciences

  1. Faculty members who learn from and know the world

In order to provide a world-class learning experience in Japan, we have gathered faculty members with a wide range of specialized fields from Japan and overseas, including those with degrees from overseas universities, and provide thorough small-group education. Each faculty member's classes also support interactive and active learning, such as discussions and fieldwork, just like at universities overseas.

  2. Developing English language skills

Classes are mainly conducted in English, so students can acquire practical and advanced English language skills. In order to make it possible to take these classes, each department also offers an intensive curriculum aimed at improving English language skills. We provide opportunities to broaden your horizons by experiencing different cultures, as well as improving your language skills, through overseas training, study abroad, and internships.

  3. Liberal arts and sciences that broaden your horizons

We offer common courses that can be taken across the boundaries of majors. These courses include those that cultivate the basic skills and practical abilities necessary to deal with various social issues, as well as courses that are meaningful for students of both majors. By taking a wide range of courses, students can acquire broad knowledge of world civilizations and societies, deep thinking and judgment skills, intellectual creativity, and problem-finding and problem-solving abilities.
