Learning Points

POINT1

Learning about Japan from a multifaceted perspective, from a dynamic Asian perspective

You can choose from three courses: Japanese Culture, East Asian Culture, and Comparative and Interactive Culture. There are few barriers between courses, and you can take lectures and exercises from other courses. You can learn about Japanese culture from an East Asian perspective in a multifaceted and international way.

POINT 2

Deepen the theme from three unique perspectives

We offer classes that combine methodology and local studies in the three fields of [Language, Literature, and Philosophy], [Art, Body, and Environment], and [History, Folklore, and Religion]. By receiving thorough research guidance for each student in small seminars, students can deepen their knowledge of the themes they have set.

POINT3

Overseas training in East Asia and fieldwork in Japan

We recommend studying abroad at universities in China, Taiwan, and South Korea. Through thorough practical education on site, you will hone your language skills and deepen your knowledge. In Japan, you will conduct fieldwork at various regions and historic sites, developing the ability to imagine the spacing between lines in ancient documents and other written materials, and participate in archaeological surveys to learn these methods.
