Learning Local Culture from Multiple Perspectives: Supporting Students with Comprehensive Study Abroad Systems
Through learning in a wide range of fields such as language, literature, history, folklore, thought, art, and society, students develop understanding, empathy, and solidarity with different cultures. We also offer a variety of short- and long-term study abroad programs. Interaction with international students is also active.

The Faculty of Faculty of Humanities also offers career-oriented learning
We also recommend taking Teacher Training Course and Curator Training Course courses. Related Courses are placed in the Specialized Courses of the departments to facilitate the academic learning of the curriculum. There is also a "Japanese Teacher Program" to develop the ability to teach Japanese to foreigners. Studies in languages, literature, history, and art are also linked to licenses and qualifications that support career development.

Learning Across Departments: Global Humanities (GH)
In addition to the 'Introduction to Humanities' (compulsory), students can take courses such as the 'Japanese Language Workshop,' GH lecture courses, and joint GH seminars among the three departments, as well as opportunities for interaction with students from other departments. To obtain a certificate, you need to write your graduation thesis in a foreign language or use foreign literature and write your abstract in that language.
Department of British and American Studies

Aiming to acquire advanced English skills while broadly and deeply studying English and American cultures
In small-group study, students practically improve their English skills, while also professionally and cross-sectionally studying the culture and history of English-speaking countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, to acquire the ability to communicate with high-quality individuals.
Department of European Studies

Comprehensive study of European culture through the two pillars of cultural studies and foreign language learning
With a focus on France and Germany, students will study the culture and phenomena of the European world, including language, literature, history, thought, art, lifestyle and culture, and modern society. By taking advantage of on-site training and studying abroad, students will hone their knowledge to become international citizens.
Department of Japanese and East-Asian Studies

A diverse curriculum that fosters broad learning and deep thinking
Students acquire language skills and learn about Japanese culture and the cultures of East Asian countries closely related to Japan, learning and exploring from various fields such as history, thought, art, and literature.
