Final year studies and the challenge of going to graduate school abroad

As a final year student, I am taking advanced economics and business management classes. I am particularly stimulating with classes on trade theory that compare actual trade policies and classes on business and statistics. At the same time, I am also taking entrance exams for graduate schools overseas and have been accepted by several of them. After graduation, I will be going to a graduate school in the UK in September to obtain a master's degree.

Studying at the heart of the Asian economy broadened my perspective on building a career abroad

For someone interested in development economics, studying at SIM was a great opportunity to learn about the realities of Southeast and South Asia. Interacting with students from diverse backgrounds and experiencing cultural differences firsthand, I feel that I myself have become more open-minded. Many classes are quite challenging, but it's easy to ask questions to the teacher, and the self-study room and other facilities are well established, allowing me to concentrate on studying. Another valuable gain was learning about overseas employment conditions through career events that were easy to join. My current goal is to earn a degree from the University of London and pursue graduate studies abroad. I believe that broadening my knowledge and learning in my second year of BSc at SIM was very meaningful for me to consider my career path more concretely.

I was attracted to the opportunity to study world-class economics using English as a 'tool,' which led me to apply to this university. Currently, I am interested in international economics and aim for a career related to trade in the future. Through daily classes, I feel that I am able to learn the essential Specialized Knowledge knowledge necessary for that purpose at a high level. PDP assignments and exams are by no means easy, but through preparation and review, discussions with friends, and conversations with professors, I steadily improved my skills. In econometrics, students learn statistical methods to verify theories with data, and develop logical thinking and analytical skills to consider causal relationships. Through this study, I hope to gain a multifaceted perspective on economic phenomena, including trade, and in the future, I hope to play an active role as a bridge between Japan and the world.

Master bookkeeping and accounting, the common language of business, together with outstanding students from around the world

PDP 8th generation / School of Liberal Arts and Sciences Economics and Management Program *4 years / Chiba Prefecture, Narita International High School graduate
In my third year, I attended LSE's summer school and was inspired by the proactive engagement of students from around the world in their classes and their willingness to gain a deeper understanding. I took the Principles of Accounting course to gain specialized knowledge and skills in accounting. Since most students are natives, I felt the language barrier, but I was also reminded that bookkeeping and accounting are a universal language in business. Sometimes classmates ask me how to solve problems, and I felt that understanding bookkeeping and accounting would allow me to compete on equal footing in the world. Even after spending free time and returning to the dormitory, I reviewed the classes repeatedly, and as a result, I was able to receive the highest grade, A+. Going forward, I will focus even more on my studies as I prepare for the Certified Public Accountant exam.

The reason I decided to go to graduate school abroad was because I acquired globally applicable skills through PDP

PDP 6th Class / 4th Year Faculty of Economics Department of Finance / Tochigi Prefecture, Sano Nihon University Secondary School / Advanced: Hult International Business School
PDP allowed me to acquire globally applicable skills, which helped me make the big decision to go on to graduate school abroad. All classes and exams in PDP are conducted in English, so I have to study a lot, but I think that the result will be an experience that goes beyond a degree from the University of London. I am aiming to obtain a degree in Finance and Business Analytics at Hult International Business School. In the future, I would like to use my skills in English, finance, and statistics to become a business leader who is active globally.

PDP to utilize English and mathematics to become a globally active manager

I think that the classes in the EM major are a place that encourages you to study what you like. Until October of my third year of high school, I was studying to enter a science faculty, but I decided to take the entrance exam for the EM major because I thought I could utilize the English and mathematics that I have been focusing on. My favorite subject is economic mathematics, and it is very fun to be able to use the knowledge I have gained up until now to solve new problems. During the English training held in June and July, my scores did not improve and it was difficult at times, but it was a good opportunity to interact with new friends. I would like to continue to cherish my daily classes and also try studying abroad. My goal is to become a manager who can be active on the world stage in the future.
