Sports in Practice

Badminton

Badminton is said to be a three-dimensional sport. The size of the court for doubles is 13.40m long and 6.10m wide, which is smaller than volleyball or tennis, but considering that the shuttlecock flies high into the ceiling, it is a sport with a large three-dimensional court. Badminton is also said to be a "combat sport on the court" and is a sport that burns a lot of calories. It is also a popular lifelong sport.

The best part of badminton is the speed of the ball. The fastest instantaneous speed of a smash, as recognized by the Guinness World Records, is an astounding 421km/h (as of February 2010). That's speed beyond recognition. However, the key points are also the tricks with the opponent, such as drops along the top of the net and hairpin shots, and it's fun to watch tactics determine victory or defeat.

In doubles, communication and trust with your partner are important. By working together in harmony, you can bring out each other's strengths and make up for each other's weaknesses, which will bring you victory. It's also nice to be able to share the joy of playing together.

Relaxation & Walking

Do you think that moving your body or exercising makes you tired? Not at all. Moderate exercise is effective for relaxing your mind and body.

Musashi University has a training room on the 4th floor of Building 10, which is equipped with machines equivalent to those in fitness facilities. In this relaxation and walking class, we mainly use the training room to learn the theory and practice of training. We often hear students say, "Recently, my upper arms have been sagging..." or "My stomach area...". However, people in their 20s are still young and trainable. Why not try to get a little closer to your ideal body shape?

We will also be walking. Why not take a casual walk around the university, not just on the route to the university from Ekoda Station or Shin-Ekoda Station? It would be lonely not to know the area around the university during your four years of university life. You may discover new things, such as nice shops and healing spots. Work up a good sweat while taking in the scenery, as if you were on a little excursion.

Skiing and Snowboarding

Skiing and snowboarding are intensive courses. What makes them so different from other practical courses is that they are held in a training camp format. You will leave the "everyday" space of Ekoda behind and move to the "unusual" space of the silvery white snow, where you will be immersed in skiing and snowboarding morning, noon and night for four days. By sharing your meals and sleeping quarters with the same group of people, you will naturally learn the manners of group living as well as improve your skills. And you will undoubtedly deepen your bonds with your friends as you talk through the night. However, this is assuming that you still have the energy until the night comes.
