Campus Mate
Support team for Exchange students
For Exchange Students starting life in Japan, everything they do is new. Even things like buying a train ticket are different from their home countries, so they are often confused. Campus Mates are volunteer students who help ease the everyday difficulties they face during their stay, help them smoothly transition into student life, and independently plan exchanges with international students. They also help out with events for international students organized by the Global Education Center. Another benefit of being a Campus Mate is that you will have the chance to be the first person to become friends with Exchange Students coming to Musashi University.
Activities
Campus Mates are actively looking after and advising international students so that they can become accustomed to Japan and Musashi University as quickly as possible, by welcoming them when they arrive in Japan, assisting them with guidance sessions for international students, and participating in welcome parties. Even if you are in the position of helping out, there is a lot you can gain from interacting with international students, such as unknowingly being able to see Japan from a perspective you have never seen before and learning about the difficulties of adapting to a different culture through them. Suddenly, the overseas world that you had only vaguely imagined becomes closer to you.
Who can participate
This is an ideal activity for people who are interested in volunteer activities and international exchange, people who were helped by volunteers while studying abroad, people who are thinking about studying abroad in the near future, etc. Anyone can participate, so please feel free to join the event whenever you have some free time.
