Musashi University provides facilities where students can study independently, either individually or in groups, outside of class hours, prepare for seminars and exercises, and provides spaces for connections between faculty and students.

Building 11 Learning Commons Group Study Room

Learning Commons (LC) Building 11, 3rd floor

Opening hours: 8:30-21:00 (Monday-Friday), 8:30-18:00 (Saturdays and Sundays)
Closed on public holidays, school breaks, and during general entrance exams and the Common University Admissions Test.

*Open on public holiday classes. Opening days and hours may change during long vacations and entrance exam dates, so please check the 3S notice for opening days and hours.

The Learning Commons (LC) is a facility where students can freely study independently. It has solo work booths and free desks that can be used by individuals, meeting rooms that can be used by groups, coaching booths, presentation areas, and more.

Solo Work Booth

These are semi-private booths where you can concentrate on your studies. Each booth is limited to one person.

Free desks and free working areas

Available for individual or group study. Free desks are equipped with electrical outlets for PCs. Please feel free to use the whiteboard in the free working area. There are also sofas and TVs.

Wooden floor/Japanese-style room

It can be used as a rest area between self-study sessions.

Presentation area (reservation required)

It can be used for group study. PCs and projectors are available for loan in the GS room.

Meeting room (reservation required)

Available for group study. Private room that can accommodate up to 18 people.

Coaching booth (reservation required)

This room can be used for group study. It is intended for use as individual or group instruction outside of regular classes. It is a semi-private room, and the desks are equipped with electrical outlets for PCs.

About Reservations

Booths marked with (Reservation Required) require prior reservation. As a general rule, reservations can only be made on the day. Please write the time of use and the name of the representative on the reservation form (whiteboard) set up at the entrance to the booth. Each reservation is limited to a maximum of two hours in 30-minute increments. Additional reservations can be made if there is availability after use. No special contact will be made when the reserved time arrives, so please begin using the booth on your own. After use, please erase your reservation written on the whiteboard.

Group Study Room (GS Room) Building 11, 4th floor

The "Group Study Room (GS Room)" can be used when you want to advance your research outside of seminar time, hold discussions with your seminar classmates, practice your research presentations, etc. Each faculty has a booth and is equipped with the necessary equipment for their studies. There is also an open space shared by all faculties.

Each faculty area

In principle, each faculty area is for use by students of that faculty. Please feel free to use the projectors provided. They can also be used for discussions and practice for research presentations.

OPEN SPACE

This is an open space shared by all faculties. There are PCs on the long desks. You can use it freely without making a reservation.

Regarding rental PCs and projectors

There are lockers for rental PCs and projectors in the GS Room on the 4th floor. Please use them by each student.
