Carl Duisberg Zentren (CDC) was founded in Cologne in 1962 as a public organization with the aim of supporting foreign students studying abroad. It later became a company and in 1974 began offering German language lessons to foreigners. Today, CDC has bases throughout Germany, including Cologne, Berlin and Munich, and offers a variety of German language learning programs.
Students can choose to participate in the Berlin, Munich, or Cologne school, and because the curriculum is standardized across all schools, the content of the courses is the same regardless of which school they choose. Depending on the number of participants, the course may be a cultural experience course with activities included.
