As a result of putting my all into it, I realized that I could put what I learned at university to good use in society.

Q. What did you think about researching actual companies?

I had never done in-depth research into the history or corporate culture of a particular company, but I found that the corporate culture of the company I was assigned to was consistent with the passion put into its products, and that the corporate culture had a profound influence on its employees and products.
Furthermore, the company I was in charge of has a corporate culture that emphasizes personal connections and a strong sense of ownership, and these two ideas are not just applicable to the corporate world, but can also be applied to team activities in the inter-departmental seminar. I was able to learn firsthand that when each individual takes on the work assigned to them with a sense of responsibility, a chain reaction occurs that contributes to the team.

Q. How did your experience in the inter-departmental seminar influence your job hunting and future career path?

While researching the assignment of corporate philosophy and corporate culture, I learned that corporate culture has a strong influence on the characteristics of a company. When I actually visited a company, I noticed that the ideas they had put forward as their corporate philosophy were in line with the employees and the business activities of the company. Therefore, when I'm job hunting, I want to determine whether the corporate philosophy of the company I'm interested in matches my ideals and whether those ideals are in line with what the company is doing.
Before taking the course, I didn't have a concrete idea of how I would be able to use what I learned in university classes in the future. However, I was able to experience firsthand how the perspectives I learned in my university classes, which take into account diverse backgrounds and the ability to analyze current situations by considering their relationship to past events, can be applied in a variety of situations. I felt that this course dispelled any anxiety I had about my future career path.

Q. What was the best thing about taking the inter-departmental seminar?

I think it was great that I was able to meet members from different faculties and age groups every day and spend quality time with them, and that I was able to be inspired by the energy of members who had different ways of thinking and strengths than me, and to work together to improve each other.
I was able to broaden my own perspective with the diverse strengths of the people I met, including some with excellent research skills, some who could lead their teams by creating task lists in anticipation, and some who excelled in creativity. Everyone was working hard on the assignments, which allowed me to work hard as well.
I was able to learn how seriously I can devote myself to one thing, and I was also impressed by the fact that I was able to encounter emotions I had never known before.
