Human Rights and Harassment
Musashi University aims to create and maintain an environment in which students, faculty, staff, and other members of the university are respected as individuals and can trust each other in their academic work, extracurricular activities, research, education, and the various tasks that support these activities.
1. What is harassment?
Harassment means “to torment” or “to annoy”. Harassment includes (1) sexual harassment, (2) academic harassment, (3) power harassment.
All students, faculty and staff members who make up Musashi University must respect each other and value consideration for each other, and must create and maintain an environment in which they can say “please stop” if they do not like something, so that the campus will be free from harassment.

2. Harassment Consultation Desk
If you feel that you have been a victim of harassment or see someone who has been harassed and is in trouble, please contact a member of the consultation desk. Also, if you have a friend or colleague who is being harassed, encourage them to seek advice and, if necessary, be a witness to explain the situation.
3. How to consult and what to do after consulting
If you would like to consult with a human rights counselor, please contact them by email and set a date to meet. You can also contact and consult with a counselor directly. Musashi Gakuen's human rights counselor will transfer you to a counselor if necessary.
If you consult with us, your name and the contents of your consultation will be treated as strictly confidential. Please feel free to consult with us. Furthermore, those who consult with us, and faculty, staff, and students who give testimony if necessary, will not suffer any retaliation.
The response and treatment after receiving a consultation will take the victim's feelings and thoughts into priority. It is fine to ask for strict measures, to have an opportunity to discuss, or to sort out your feelings and clear your head by consulting. Victims have the right to express their anger, regret, and anxiety. Counseling staff will respect the client's judgment of what they want and what they want to do, and will work together to think through the problem.
If the damage is serious and the person seeking advice requests that the university take action, a written complaint must be made. The university will take responsibility for dealing with the matter.
