What is Diversity Center?

Musashi University Diversity Center was established with the aim of creating an environment where all students can live their student life in a way that respects their individuality and characteristics. If you are having trouble with your student life and don't know where to turn for help, please contact us first.

What kind of support can I receive? -Examples of support-

  • Q1. I am very bad at managing my schedule for assignments and class registration.
    • A1. We will provide advice on how to manage your schedule and will work with the necessary departments to manage your course enrollment.
  • Q2. I'm worried about my sexuality. I'd like someone to listen to me.
    • A2. We will listen to your story and, if necessary, provide you with information about support for your on-campus life.
  • Q3. I have a visual impairment (weak vision, color vision deficiency, etc.). Is there any support available?
    • A3. We will prepare lecture materials and exam question papers according to the degree and type of visual impairment.
  • Q4. Due to a chronic illness, I need to leave my seat several times during class to go to the bathroom.
    • A4. We will work with the instructor to ensure that seats near the door are always available.
  • Q5. I have a developmental disorder and am easily distracted. Because of this, I have missed verbal assignments and have failed to submit assignments many times.
    • A5 We will work with class instructors to ensure that assignments and important matters are communicated in written form.

Overview of support process

  1. Please make a reservation by phone or email first.
  2. The coordinator will listen to your story.
  3. We will discuss and decide on a policy for how to support you.
  4. Once the policy has been decided, we will work with the necessary departments and begin providing support.

For your peace of mind

 <Protection of personal information and collective confidentiality>

At Diversity Center, coordinators will strictly manage any personal information of students (including the content of consultations) that they come to know in the course of providing support.

 However, if Diversity Center determines it is necessary to provide appropriate support for the purpose of supporting students, it will cooperate with relevant parties both inside and outside the university to provide support, and will share personal information among supporters while fully adhering to collective confidentiality obligations.

 

  • The information sharing operations are as follows:
    • The scope of information sharing will be carefully considered depending on the content of the support.
    • We will thoroughly inform supporters of how to handle information so that personal information shared among them is not leaked.
