Musashi University offers a number of original scholarships to respond to students' strong desire to learn.


Musashi University offers the following scholarships:
  • Please refer to the Scholarship Guide for details on application procedures. The Scholarship Guide will be distributed at the Scholarship Guidance in April. Also, please check the Scholarship Bulletin Board in front of the Student Affairs Division at all times.
  • Those who wish to apply for a scholarship must attend the Scholarship Guidance session in April.

For those who would like to learn more about scholarships for those who have experienced sudden changes in their household finances
The purpose of this program is to subsidize the study of undergraduate students of Musashi University through scholarships and to contribute to the development of student resources. This scholarship is for those who have experienced a sudden change in their household finances, and we are always accepting applications.

Musashi University Shirakiji Scholarship

Based on a donation from Setsuko Egami, Professor of the Faculty of Sociology at Musashi University, the purpose of this scholarship is to encourage academic achievement by providing scholarships to undergraduate students of Musashi University who are from single-parent households to reduce their financial burden and to produce outstanding individuals who can contribute to social activities.

*For one-year study abroad, scholarships will be awarded up to half of the tuition fee at our university. If the tuition fee at the overseas university exceeds the tuition fee at our university, the difference will be further paid up to half of the tuition fee at our university.
The Outbound Exchange Students of the semester study abroad program (1 semester) will receive a scholarship of up to 1/2 of the scholarship for the 1-year study abroad program.
Students at our university will pay tuition fees at Musashi University as usual for the year of study abroad. Tuition fees at the host university are exempted and must be paid, and Partner institutions are set separately. However, in any case, you will be responsible for your own accommodation and food expenses. The dormitory fee of the host university will usually be sent directly from the host university to the student after arriving at the site, and the bill will be paid to the host university by the specified date.

This program is part of the University's international exchange program. This program also includes the Global Internship (GI) Program and Global Service Learning (at least 2 credits), which is a common course for all faculties.

The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) provides loans and grants for tuition fees to outstanding students who are having difficulty studying for financial reasons. In principle, if accepted, it is a stable scholarship system in which the student can continue to receive the scholarship for the standard period of study. There are two types of loans: the interest-free "Type 1 Scholarship" and the interest-bearing "Type 2 Scholarship."

Japan Finance Corporation National Lifestyle Business "National Education Loan"

This is a public loan system that covers expenses incurred when enrolling in and during your time at our university. Each student can borrow up to 3.5 million yen at a fixed interest rate, and only pay back the interest during their time at university. Musashi University has established a system to support students whose place of residence or workplace as the main tuition payer is covered by the Disaster Relief Act and whose household finances have changed suddenly due to a disaster, making it difficult for them to continue their studies.
