Q1 Why did you take Teacher Training Course?

When I first entered high school, I wanted to become a high school teacher and teach baseball. I have been playing baseball since I was in the third grade of elementary school. During that time, I was greatly influenced by teachers such as the high school manager and coach. In high school baseball, I learned not only baseball skills but also how to be a person. I was always told how to become a role model, both inside and outside of school, and to be a person who can be active in society, so that I could become a baseball team that is supported by the school, the community, and various other people. During that time, I felt that I wanted to pass on the experiences and knowledge I had gained to the next generation, and this was one of the reasons why I decided to become a teacher.

Q2 Can I take Teacher Training Course while also participating in club or circle activities?

I am a member of the baseball club while taking Teacher Training Course. In conclusion, it is difficult, but it is possible to balance both. University offers a certain degree of freedom, so you can plan your own courses and use your free time to train, do assignments, and practice on your own. I am able to balance both by making good use of my free time, cooperating with my fellow teachers and club members.

Q3: I often hear that you can make friends with students from other departments. Is that actually the case?

Overall, there are many classes that involve group work, so there are plenty of opportunities! I think you can even interact with students from different grades.

Q4 How many credits do I need to take in addition to the credits required for graduation?

I think it's about 40 units.

Q5: How have you grown as a person through Teacher Training Course?

There are many opportunities to speak in front of people, which is a great way to practice thinking about how to communicate in an easy-to-understand way. I also think I can learn how to evaluate other people's mock lessons and how to listen attentively in group work. I have also gotten better at using my time and how to concentrate better. In addition, I have become faster at typing because I write a lot of reports and lesson plans. Although it can be difficult and challenging, mock lessons and group work are often fun, so I can grow and learn together with those around me while having fun!

By taking Teacher Training Course, I was able to broaden my circle of friends.

Q1 Why did you take Teacher Training Course?

It all started when I was in elementary school and wanted to be a teacher. Even after I entered middle school and high school, education was still on my mind. When I was looking for a university where I could get a teaching license, I found out that I could take Teacher Training Course at Musashi University 's School of Management.

Q2 Can I take Teacher Training Course while also participating in club or circle activities?

I am busy with my part-time job as a cram school teacher, mainly teaching junior high school students, but I think I am able to balance my work and studies. I try to make time on the weekends to do the things I want to do, such as doing my university assignments. For that reason, I try to avoid late-night university classes as much as possible and work part-time on weekday evenings.

Q3: I often hear that you can make friends with students from other departments. Is that actually true?

You can make friends. For example, in a social studies class on Educational Methods, you can connect with people not only from the Faculty of Faculty of Economics but also from Faculty of Humanities. You can also get to know many people through classes such as "Introductory Seminar on Teacher Training" and "Principles of Education 1" in your first year, which you take regardless of the license you wish to obtain, and "Educational Psychology" and Moral Education" in your second year and beyond.

Q4 How many credits do I need to take in addition to the credits required for graduation?

I'm still a second year student, so it will depend on how I take classes from now on, but for me, I think it will be around 50 credits.

Q5: How have you grown as a person through Teacher Training Course?

Through the classes, my interest in education has increased. For example, I have more opportunities to connect topics that came up in class with news I saw on TV. Also, when I was teaching at a cram school, for example, when a child forgot their homework, I was able to think from the child's point of view, including the reason and background for forgetting.

Through Teacher Training Course I gained a sense of autonomy.

Q1 Why did you take Teacher Training Course?

It all started when I wanted to be like my high school teacher. At the time, I was a problematic student who often missed school and events, but my teacher patiently and sincerely talked to me, which made me change my attitude and start taking classes seriously. I am taking this course with the goal of becoming a teacher who can rekindle the enthusiasm of students who have given up, just like my teacher.

Q2 Can I take Teacher Training Course while also participating in club or circle activities?

I don't belong to any clubs or groups, but I do have a part-time job. It can be tough, especially when exams and reports have to be submitted, but I think it's important to have a challenging spirit and try your best.

Q3: I often hear that you can make friends with students from other departments. Is that actually true?

Since you often meet students from other faculties in Teacher Training Course courses, and most of the lectures are centered around group work, you will naturally become friends with them. Also, when you practice mock lessons, you will have the opportunity to be watched by your seniors, so you will be able to make connections with them.

Q4 How many credits do I need to take in addition to the credits required for graduation?

I took 12 credits in my first year, 22 credits in my second year, 18 credits in my third year (12 credits planned for my fourth year), for a total of 64 credits (30 subjects). Department of Finance does not expect students to obtain a high school geography and history license, so the number of credits required is higher than the required number. I think the number of credits required will vary depending on your faculty and department, and whether or not you obtain a junior high school license.

Q5: How have you grown as a person through Teacher Training Course?

There aren't many tests in the Teacher Training Course, and the focus is on reports and presentations. This has helped me acquire the ability to grasp the essence of literature and materials and to convey my ideas to students in a way that is easy to understand during mock lessons. I was originally not good at speaking in front of people, but through mock lessons and group work, I have become more proactive in making presentations in seminars, and I feel like I have acquired a sense of independence.

Q1 Why did you take Teacher Training Course?

When I entered university, I didn't have the intention of becoming a teacher, but I had a vague desire to learn about education, so I decided to take Teacher Training Course.

Q2 Can I take Teacher Training Course while also participating in club or circle activities?

I think it's possible to balance both. I'm currently a member of the tennis club. At the end of the semester, we're busy with reports and tests, but the other club members who aren't taking Teacher Training Course are in the same boat, so we encourage each other and do our best.

Q3: I often hear that you can make friends with students from other departments. Is that actually the case?

I think we can make friends. Compared to Teacher Training Course courses have more group work. I think having that kind of time in class helps us to interact with students from other faculties.

Q4 How many credits do I need to take in addition to the credits required for graduation?

In my case, I found that there were more credits than I expected that overlapped with those required to graduate from my undergraduate program, so I was able to complete Teacher Training Course with fewer credits than I had anticipated.

Q5: How have you grown as a person through Teacher Training Course?

I feel like I was able to gain a wide range of knowledge through the classes in Teacher Training Course. I was able to learn about areas that I probably would not have been able to touch upon through Teacher Training Course classes alone. I feel like this has broadened my horizons, and more than anything, it was fun to learn new things. There were many difficult things, but I think that being able to see it through by encouraging each other with friends who were also taking the same Teacher Training Course was a very positive experience for me.

The more I learn, the more I realize my ignorance; and the more I realize my ignorance, the more I want to learn.

Q1 Why did you take Teacher Training Course?

When I was a child, I could not find any value in "learning." However, as I grew older, I realized that "learning" is something that broadens a person's horizons and enriches their life. I think that the idea that "studying is something you have to endure" is deeply rooted in the minds of many people, but I thought that the field of education, which allows you to realize the possibilities mentioned above, is wonderful. As a result, I became interested in education and decided to take Teacher Training Course.

Q2 Can I take Teacher Training Course while also participating in club or circle activities?

It's not easy, but if you can prioritize when you're busy with assignments and plan your actions carefully, it's not impossible.

Q3: I often hear that you can make friends with students from other departments. Is that actually the case?

Yes, it is possible. In particular, there are many discussion activities in the Teacher Training Course courses, so I think you will be able to develop relationships through them.

Q4 How many credits do I need to take in addition to the credits required for graduation?

It depends on the person, but if your department is closely related to the license you want to obtain (for example, Department of British and American Studies and English), it is about 45 credits. However, in my case, I am enrolled in Department of European Studies and want to obtain a license in English, so I am taking more credits than that.

Q5: How have you grown as a person through Teacher Training Course?

I think it has enabled me to think more deeply about human rights and to look at others with a more open mind.

I want to be a teacher that my students can trust.

Q1 Why did you take Teacher Training Course?

I've been playing Japanese drums at local festivals since I was in elementary school, but when I was in high school, I had more opportunities to teach Japanese drums to children. It was then that I realized I enjoyed teaching and wanted to become a teacher. I realized that I was able to teach the children because I had built a relationship of trust with them, so I decided to aim to become a teacher, an expert in "teaching."

Q2 Can I take Teacher Training Course while also participating in club or circle activities?

I don't belong to any clubs or circles, but there are quite a few people who are taking Teacher Training Course who are. Some of them seem busy, but if you make a good schedule in your first and second years, I don't think you'll be too busy. Also, I have two part-time jobs, but it doesn't interfere with Teacher Training Course.

Q3: I often hear that you can make friends with students from other departments. Is that actually true?

I think we get along better than students who are not taking Teacher Training Course. In Teacher Training Course, there are some classes for specific subjects, but there are more common classes that are not subject-specific, so there are horizontal connections across faculties, and I also have friends from other faculties and departments. It's fun to hear about what each of us is studying.

Q4 How many credits do I need to take in addition to the credits required for graduation?

I am taking 34 credits in addition to the credits required for graduation.

Q5: How have you grown as a person through Teacher Training Course?

Before taking the education course, I thought that the most important thing for a teacher was to deepen their knowledge in their own field of expertise. After taking the course, I realized that while knowledge was of course necessary, there were also other important things such as how to interact with students and how to devise ways of teaching. Also, although I was in the position of a "student" until high school, I began to think more from the teacher's perspective, and I became more conscious of how to communicate and speak in a way that is easy for others to hear and understand.

Q1 Why did you take Teacher Training Course?

I was originally interested in education, and the classes I wanted to take overlapped with the classes required for Teacher Training Course. In addition to that, I wanted to study hard since I had already entered university.

Q2 Can I take Teacher Training Course while also participating in club or circle activities?

Even while taking Teacher Training Course, there is plenty of time to participate in clubs and circle activities. Therefore, there are people around me who do not belong to any clubs or circles and earn a good amount of money through part-time work, and there are also many people who participate in club and circle activities while working part-time. If you are a student Faculty of Sociology, you can create at least one day when you do not have to go to university, so you probably have a lot of free time.

Q3: I often hear that you can make friends with students from other departments. Is that actually true?

I think you can make friends. There are a lot of group work in the teacher training classes, so there are many opportunities to talk with people from other departments. Therefore, even though I don't belong to any clubs or extracurricular activities, I was able to expand my circle of friends by taking Teacher Training Course.

Q4 How many credits do I need to take in addition to the credits required for graduation?

The total number of credits I took to get my teaching license that didn't count towards my graduation was about 50. It may seem like a lot, but I took those credits over three years (six semesters), so if you calculate one semester's worth, that's about eight credits, or about four classes.

Q5: How have you grown as a person through Teacher Training Course?

I believe that by taking Teacher Training Course, I have gained a lot of knowledge about education and have become able to see things from various angles. Also, since there are many opportunities to make presentations and speak in Teacher Training Course, I have become more accustomed to speaking in front of people and have gained confidence.

Q1 Why did you take Teacher Training Course?

When I enrolled, the COVID-19 pandemic had just started to spread, and I was thinking about studying abroad, but I couldn't even attend university. I thought that if I continued like this, I would lose the study habits I had acquired while studying for the entrance exams, so when I decided to enroll at Musashi University, I decided to take Teacher Training Course. This university allows students from any faculty, including economics, humanities, and social sciences, to take Teacher Training Course, so I thought it was good that I could both study Teacher Training Course and my department.

Q2 Can I take Teacher Training Course while also participating in club or circle activities?

I think it's possible. I was the leader of a club with 60 members, I was involved in student council activities, I wrote articles, and I was a member of many other groups. I think you can continue doing anything if you have the will to do it.

Q3: I've heard that you can make friends with students from other departments. Is that actually the case?

The best thing about taking Teacher Training Course was making friends from different faculties. We help each other out in class and ask each other for advice on job hunting. In addition, Teacher Training Course is attended by a wide variety of students, and we work together in many group projects. Therefore, I have become able to speak my opinions to others without being intimidated, even if we are not friends.

Q4 How many credits do I need to take in addition to the credits required for graduation?

I have earned about 50 credits in addition to the credits required for graduation. It depends on the department, but if I can combine it well with online classes, I think I can create one day a week for a complete day off.

Q5: How have you grown as a person through Teacher Training Course?

Club management, student council activities, human relationships... I think that Teacher Training Course has been connected in every aspect. By working in groups with people I had never been involved with in my life, I learned that there are many different types of people and thought from the other person's perspective. This was very helpful in my university life. Also, I feel that being able to consider education as one of my perspectives has broadened the scope of my job hunting and way of thinking.
I live by the motto, "boredom is the biggest enemy," but your university life can be changed as much as you want. You can have fun at university, or you can focus on part-time work. Teacher Training Course students feel a sense of fulfillment by leading busy lives. If you want to devote yourself to something at university, and you've made the effort to go to university and study, I recommend taking Teacher Training Course.
