Faculty of Economics

  1. Faculty placement based on specialization
    • In order to achieve the educational and research objectives of the Faculty and each department of Department of Economics, Department of Management, and Department of Finance, we will assign faculty members who are enthusiastic about small-group seminar education, taking into consideration the balance of areas of expertise, etc.
  2. Division of roles for faculty in the administration of the faculty
    • The roles of faculty management will be divided based on teaching experience, research specialty, and experience in faculty management. Faculty management will be carried out in an organized manner to ensure cooperation among faculty members and to avoid concentrating the burden on specific faculty members.
  3. Faculty Composition
    • We will seek talent from both within Japan and overseas to ensure diversity in our teaching staff, taking into consideration areas of expertise, age, and gender.
  4. Faculty personnel
    • The recruitment, appointment, promotion, etc. of faculty members will be conducted fairly and appropriately in accordance with the rules and policies of the university and faculty.
  5. Improving teacher qualifications
    • We aim to improve the quality of our faculty through collaboration and information sharing among faculty members in education and research, and active involvement with students. In order to improve their quality, faculty members will also actively participate in faculty development activities.

Faculty of Humanities

  1. Faculty placement based on specialization
    • In order to achieve the educational and research objectives of the Faculty and Department of British and American Studies, Department of European Studies, and Department of Department of Japanese and East-Asian Studies, we assign faculty members who have a sincere understanding of "human beings," as well as broad and deep cultural education, linguistic ability, and international sensibility, and who are enthusiastic about supervising graduation theses, while taking into consideration a balance of areas of expertise, etc.
  2. Division of roles for faculty in the administration of the faculty
    • The roles of faculty management will be divided based on the achievements of education, the field of specialized research, and experience in faculty management. Faculty management will be carried out in an organized manner to ensure cooperation among faculty members and to avoid concentrating the burden on specific faculty members.
  3. Faculty Composition
    • We will seek human resources from both within Japan and overseas to ensure diversity in our teaching staff, taking into consideration the specialization of language, literature, history, folklore, thought, art, society, etc., as well as age and gender composition, and fully understanding the basic principles of gender equality and the importance of diversity. For teachers in charge of global programs and language intensive classes, we will place emphasis on teaching abilities that will enable students to acquire advanced academic ability and practical skills in each language and to cultivate intercultural understanding.

    • The recruitment, appointment, promotion, etc. of faculty members shall be conducted fairly and appropriately in accordance with the rules and policies of the university and faculty, in accordance with the appointment and promotion criteria of each department, and with due consideration for the balance of areas of expertise.

Faculty of Sociology

  1. Faculty placement based on specialization
    • In order to achieve the educational and research objectives of the Faculty and Department of Sociology and Department of Department of Socio-Media Studies, we will employ faculty members who can deeply explore human beings and society through social phenomena and problems, who can delve deeper into visible problems from the perspective of media and communication to explore the essence of human beings and society, and who can analyze these issues using advanced scientific methods and present new knowledge.
  2. Division of roles for faculty in the administration of the faculty
    • The responsibilities of faculty management will be divided based on each faculty member's experience and years of service in terms of educational achievements, research fields, other academic affairs, etc. Faculty management will be carried out in an organized manner, with proper division of roles and cooperation between faculty members, and consideration given to the mid- to long-term division of responsibilities so as not to concentrate the burden on specific faculty members.
  3. Faculty Composition
    • In order to ensure diversity among faculty members, we will seek talent from both within and outside Japan, taking into consideration the areas of expertise, age, and gender composition, and fully understand the basic principles of gender equality and the importance of diversity. In addition, faculty members in charge of the Global Data Science course (GDS) will place emphasis on teaching ability in "data (science)" and "English."

Faculty administration will be carried out in an organized manner to ensure cooperation among faculty members and to avoid concentrating the burden on specific faculty members.

    • We will seek personnel from both within Japan and overseas to ensure diversity in our faculty, taking into consideration areas of expertise, age, gender, etc. In particular, we will seek personnel who can teach in English, as School of Liberal Arts and Sciences emphasis on teaching in English.

    • Considering the balance of economics, business administration, and finance, we will assign the necessary faculty members to achieve the educational and research goal of Major in Economics, Management and Finance which is to cultivate individuals with outstanding academic knowledge and leadership skills who can contribute to the stability and development of the economy and society.

Graduate school management will be carried out in an organized manner to ensure collaboration among faculty members and to avoid concentrating the burden on specific faculty members.

The faculty will be made up of faculty who can provide research guidance in the fields of economic theory, economic history, applied economics, management, business information, accounting, and finance.

This is to realize the goal of human resource development, which is to foster researchers with outstanding academic knowledge who will be active in educational and research institutions both in Japan and overseas, to foster professionals who can contribute to the inheritance and creation of culture, and to the development of society.

    • The basic goal of our university's education is for all students to acquire Comprehensive Knowledge, Specialized Knowledge, the ability to collaborate with others, and practical skills through a liberal arts and science education. Therefore, the Center will assign faculty members who are motivated to contribute to achieving this goal from a perspective different from the specialty of their respective departments or from an interdisciplinary perspective, while taking into consideration the balance of educational and research fields.

    • Based on our educational achievements, specialized research fields, and experience in university administration, we will operate the center with a spirit of cooperation among faculty members and appropriate division of roles.
