Study group No.1Times:2024year10month8It is held on theHKOn the long-running program "Nodo Jiman""The first foreigner to win the annual grand champion(1994year)Japanese-Brazilian who won the3the worldJoe Hirata (Joe Hirata)We welcomed him and asked him about his life history.He is a famous singer who represents Japanese immigrants.

At the study groupHirataWe had the opportunity to hear about his experiences as a Brazilian born "dekasegi" worker in Japan, the role of his songs, and his activities as an immigrant artist after returning to Brazil, as well as his thoughts on those experiences. Through this, we were able to deepen our understanding of what it means to be an "immigrant" in various countries and about diversity.


Study group No.2Times:2024year11month25The event was held in a semi-closed setting on the 10th. He spoke about how he came to write about himself as a gay man, the situation at the time, the state of society, and his intentions for publishing the book. He also discussed the theoretical aspects of current concepts of gender and sexuality, the current state of feminism and the gay liberation movement, and the future outlook for the future.LGBTHe spoke about the concepts of queerness and the impact they have had on society. Due to privacy concerns, participation was limited to members of the research group, students, and acquaintances, but we were able to hear some very insightful stories.


Study group No.3Times:2024year12month16"Biriga-ma: The daily life of a tenant who lives toughly in a gay society where it's getting tougher to graduate from high school"2024(Pot Publishing, 2013) "I don't want to become a monster"(2018Nippon Hyoronsha)Aoi Kouki, a manga artist with works such as "The Last Samurai" and Chiaki Hoimi, a cross-dressing singer and member of the group "Yappofubijin", will talk about their life histories leading up to their current activities.LGBTThey spoke about the current situation of sexual minorities. In particular, Aoi spoke about the relationship between being a sexual minority and social class, educational background, and upbringing, while Chiaki spoke about balancing her life and career as a cross-dressing singer. Many in the audience commented that the talks were very thought-provoking and empowering.
