2007年度の活動報告

Musashi University Faculty of Economics Department of Management Noriyuki Takahashi

1. Overview of activities

This fiscal year (FY2007) as a field hearing activity, we will discuss the case of three companies in Obihiro City, Hokkaido, which are building competitiveness by utilizing local ingredients and targeting the local market, and the creation of new industries by developing high-value-added processed products in the production area that has been stuck in apples for fresh consumption. We interviewed the case of the activities of the town hall in Itayagi Town, Aomori Prefecture, which stabilized the management of local apple farmers, and the case of a sake brewing company using rice, an ancient staple food in Japan, to develop rice extract that has the effect of improving moisturizing function and rice extract that is effective in treating ulcers, and raised it into a 3 billion yen company after 40 years of hard work.

As for the lecture activities, on February 16, we invited the former president of the Shopping Street Promotion Federation, who played a major role in revitalizing the shopping street in front of Kurashiki Station, which had lost its vitality due to the expansion of large stores, by reviewing software resources (historical resources) rather than hardware, and emphasizing high-touch services. In addition, on February 23, Takahashi, the representative of this research group, held a debriefing session to review and summarize the activities so far. In addition, on March 5, we sponsored a debriefing session for students who participated in the revitalization project of the Nerima Station South Exit shopping street held as part of the Musashi University Faculty of Economics Department of Management class.

Other activities included organizing the list of the study group, publishing newsletters (twice in total), and purchasing necessary equipment for recording interviews, and taking necessary measures to institutionalize organizational management.

Since the next fiscal year (2008) will be the fifth year of the establishment of the study group, I would like to continue its activities with new goals, such as establishing the publication of newsletters and holding regular study groups based on unified themes.
