1. Thesis topic

Related to the fields of economics, management, or finance
*Only unpublished papers that have not been submitted to other prize (encouragement) paper competitions are eligible.
*If you have previously applied to this program, you cannot apply again with the same theme.

2. Application Eligibility

  1. Be a student in the Faculty of Faculty of Economics at this university
  2. Understand and comply with copyright notices

4. Where to submit

Research Support Division (submit using the Google Form with the application guidelines posted on 3S in December)

5.Submission

  1. Thesis (A4 size)
    • Create a document using Microsoft Word or other word processing software, with a maximum length of 20,000 characters (mathematical formulas, figures, tables, and references are not included in the word count).
    • - Do not include an abstract in the main text.
    • ・Include page numbers in the main text.
    • ・Convert to PDF in A4 size
    • ・Attach a cover page that lists the title of the paper, the names of all authors, the department, year, and the name of the seminar to which the representative belongs.
    • ・Include a list of citations and references at the end of the paper.
  2. Abstract of the paper (A4 size)
    • Create a document using Microsoft Word or other word processing software, within 1,000 characters.
    • ・Convert to PDF in A4 size
    • ・The beginning of the abstract must include the title of the paper, the names of all authors, the department, year, and the name of the seminar to which the representative belongs.
    • <Notes when submitting an English paper>
    • ・The main text of the paper should be within 5,000 words, and the abstract should be within 250 words.
    • ・In addition to the English paper and abstract, you must also submit a Japanese abstract (1,000 characters or less).
    • ・All other requirements are the same as for Japanese papers.
  3. Copyright Pledge
    • Access the URL of the designated Google form for submission, read the contents carefully, fill in the form and submit.
*Details on how to submit will be posted on 3S in December.

6. Notes on writing

  • For information on annotations and citations/references in the text, please refer to Yoshiyasu Ogasawara (2018), "Latest Edition: Report and Essay Techniques for University Students," Kodansha Gendai Shinsho (this book is also available in Library).
  • Please be mindful of copyright when writing. Plagiarism is a criminal offense. Papers that do not follow the citation rules may constitute copyright infringement and will not be considered for review.
  • Regarding the use of generative AI, please carefully read the message from the President (May 9, 2023) posted on the university website and the message from the Chair of the University Academic Affairs Committee (April 1, 2024) posted on 3S.

  2. Prize money (cash: 100,000 yen for 1st place, 50,000 yen for 2nd place, 30,000 yen for 3rd place, 10,000 yen for honorable mention)

8. Announcement of the selected entries

In early March, the administrative staff will contact the representative.

Past outstanding papers can be viewed in the GS Room on the 4th floor of Building 11 and in Research Support Division on the 4th floor of Building 8 (copying is not permitted).
