Regarding Musashi University's policies for 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)/updated:April 6, 2020

Musashi Academy’s current policies regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) are as follows. As the situation evolves, updates to policies will be announced through this website. Please check our website regularly. Please refer to “[Summary] Regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)” for the latest information.
University events and classes
- Graduation Ceremonies (Undergraduate and Graduate)
- Graduation ceremonies for undergraduates and graduate students scheduled for March 22nd have been cancelled.

- Entrance ceremony(updated:March 13, 2020)
- Although it is very regrettable, the entrance ceremony scheduled on April 2nd has been cancelled. We will release the congratulatory speech of the dean of the university on the website on April 2nd. Please visit the website.

- Events and various procedures after admittance for new students
- Academic schedule (orientations, course registrations, classes and others)
- For the latest information, please refer to the sections “For current students/faculty and staff” and “For newly admitted students” of the website “[Summary] Regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)”.
- Other on-campus events, off-campus events, meetings
- Events and meetings of the following nature are in principle to be postponed or cancelled:
- ・Non-urgent and/or nonessential
- ・Those involving a large and indefinite number of visitors
- ・Those where there may be close contact (events involving lodging, food and drinks and crowded indoor gathering, etc.)
- ・Those which can be substituted with remote options, without coming into campus
- If events are held in a small group (less than 10 people) and in a short period of time, events may be held on the condition that sufficient attention is paid to infection prevention. However, depending on evolving circumstances, requests may be made to cancel the event at the last minute.

Overseas travel
- Please refrain from traveling to the areas that have high infection risk. (Website of MOFA's Overseas Travel Safety Information*Japanese only
- If you have recently returned from a high infection risk area or have been in contact with someone infected by COVID-19 and suspect the possibility of having been infected, please call the “Call Center for Japanese Returnees and Potential Contacts”
- Participants will be contacted by the university if university organized programs that require overseas travels are cancelled.
Student life
- We strongly request that all non-urgent and/or nonessential extracurricular activities, including camps/retreats should be cancelled by students.
- We are carefully considering when to hold welcoming events for freshmen. We will provide detailed information on 3S by the end of March.
- As for job hunting, please follow the instructions from companies/organizations. Please carry out the infection prevention measures thoroughly when job hunting.
- Avoid the "3密" (closed[密閉], crowded places[密集] and close-contact settings [密接]) where there is a greater risk of infection in your daily life (including part time jobs).
Facility use (Entry to the university campus is prohibited from April 1 to May 6.)
- University library is open as shown on calendar . However, the schedule may change.
- When using computers, please sanitize your fingers with alcohol antiseptic solution before using.
- From Monday, March 9th, usage of PCs has been partially limited.
- ・Suspension of rental of all laptop computers
- ・10 out of 30 seats with PCs only are available for use
- Clubrooms at Building 10 can be used but only for up to 30 minutes.
- Training rooms in Building 10 is closed.
- Student dormitories are open as usual, but we ask that residents and visitors to be careful about infection prevention.
- Other facilities may be closed or limited in use.
What to do if you develop infection of COVID-19 or are identified as a person in close contact with someone infected with COVID-19
- If students/faculty/staff are diagnosed as having been infected by COVID-19, you are not permitted to come to the university or place of work. Students must call the university health center. Faculty and staff members must inform your department head.
- If you are identified as a person in close contact with a COVID-19 patient, please consult with your nearest public health center.
Prevention of infection
- For infection prevention of COVID-19, please enforce the following.
- ・Prevention of infection such as hand washing, “coughing etiquette”. Avoid places where people gather.
- ・If possible, wear a mask and sterilize fingers with alcohol antiseptic solution installed on campus
- ・Stay at home if you have fever of other flu-like symptoms.
