Comment from the award winner

Hideto Ozeki, 3rd year, Department of Finance Faculty of Economics
In Kitamura's seminar, all members have been working hard on their research with the goal of winning the Excellence Award, something their predecessors were unable to achieve. There were many times when things didn't go smoothly, such as when writing papers and creating presentation videos, with significant revisions continuing right up until the deadline, but we supported each other even in difficult situations and were able to see things through to the end. We also believe that the success of this competition was due to the fact that, through preparations for the competition, everyone was able to proactively share their opinions and build a team that nurtured each other. Through this experience, we learned the importance of working together as a team to achieve a goal, as well as the significance of financial education. We hope to continue to apply what we learned in our research and career choices.

Takeshi Osera, 3rd year, Department of Finance Faculty of Economics
I received the Excellence Award at the 2025 Securities Seminar Conference for my research on the topic "Toward Cultivating Individual Investors: Improving Financial Literacy and Considering Tax Incentive Systems." Under the guidance of Professor Tomoki Kitamura, I spent about a year writing my thesis, creating presentation videos, and preparing for discussions, working diligently with my teammates to advance my research. I am extremely pleased that my achievements have been recognized with this award. Discussing the topic with my excellent teammates, proposing new systems, and engaging in discussions with students from other universities on the day of the conference not only deepened my own knowledge, but was also a very meaningful and enjoyable experience. I hope to use what I learned at this conference to further deepen my knowledge and understanding of finance.
