【For current students】Overseas travels and after returning to Japan

In light of the worldwide spread of the new coronavirus disease, we made an announcement on March 9 requesting you to refrain from traveling overseas to areas with a high infection risk. With the epidemic rapidly expanding around the world, we once again request the following:

Overseas travel

  1. Please refrain from traveling to the areas that have a high infection risk.
  2. If you have recently returned from a high infection risk area or have been in contact with someone infected by COVID-19 and suspect the possibility of having been infected, please call the "Call Center for Japanese Returnees and Potential Contacts"
  3. Participants will be contacted by the university if university-organized programs that require overseas travels are cancelled.

After returning to Japan

  1. Stay home for 2 weeks counting from the day of your return, regardless of the country where you stayed.
  2. During this self-quarantine period, check your temperature every morning and evening and keep a record. Pay attention to any changes in your physical condition and note any symptoms you experience carefully.
  3. Call the “Call Center for Japanese Returnees and Potential Contacts" if you have cold-like symptoms or a fever of 37.5 degrees or more during the self-quarantine period.
  4. You are allowed to come to the university after the 2-week period has elapsed, on condition that there has been no problem with your health during the quarantine period. If you have any doubts or concerns, please consult the University Health Office by phone.
