[Message from the President] Warning about illegal drugs
Dear students,
The use of illegal and prohibited drugs has become a serious social problem among young people, and just recently there have been many reports of drug use and possession by university students.
These incidents are not something that only happen to other people. Each and every student at our university is required to be fully aware of the dangers of drugs and to have a strong resolve never to get involved with them.
Needless to say, the use, possession, and transfer of illegal and dangerous drugs, including cannabis, are strictly prohibited by law. These drugs not only severely damage your physical and mental health, but can also instantly ruin your future career path, your life, and the trust you have with your family and friends. There are also increasing cases of people being easily lured into using drugs through social media and the internet, but no matter how much you're told that they're "safe" or "no problem," never believe them.
While cannabis is legal in some countries and regions overseas, it is severely punished in Japan. Please be aware that Japanese laws may still apply to you while you are abroad.
If you are experiencing any drug-related temptations, anxieties, or worries, please do not bear it alone. Please contact Student Affairs Division or other university counseling services immediately. The university will do its utmost to support you in order to protect your safety and future.
Please be proud of and take responsibility as a student of our university, and be mindful of making the right decisions and taking the right actions, never getting involved with drugs.
