Department of Socio-Media Studies Ryo Hayashi Associate Professor's book 'New Theory of Consumption' has been published

Department of Socio-Media Studies Ryo Hayashi Associate Professor, 'New Consumption Theory: Physical Consumption, Sexual Consumption, Support Consumption...... The True Nature of the 'Myth' that everyone wants to talk about' has been published.

A word from the author

The concept of consumption ('consumption') has now become a widely used everyday term, going beyond specialized discussions in economics and other fields. But why do we try to speak about the world through 'consumption'? And what problems do we think this is leading to?
From this perspective, this book shows that the spread of "consumption" has been brought about by new developments in contemporary thought and sociology since the 1980s, and that these have now become obstacles to our understanding of the state of society.
How ambiguous 'consumption' is dominating and distorting our social perception. Through analysis of three categories—'Eventual Consumption,' 'Sexual Consumption,' and 'Support Consumption'—this book is recommended to anyone interested in examining and explaining various social and cultural phenomena in contemporary times.
