Musashi University is committed to providing a solid academic experience for all students during their intercultural sojourn.

We believe the English and Japanese courses offered can give students a strong base from which to acquire information, deepen understanding, and create knowledge.

"The EAS program provides a wide variety of courses about Japan and East Asia, covering topics from politics, economics, history, art, to gender studies. It was truly inspiring toengage in discussions with students from different countries. The courses I took not only deepened my interest in gender and sexual studies in East Asia but also shed new light on my graduation project, which was also related to gender equality in Taiwan. Of course, it was a great opportunity to improve my English-speaking skills.

"The EAS program at Musashi was an invaluable experience for me. Having started my exchange program at Musashi, in the wake of the global pandemic in 2020, all staff at Musashi and especially MCV proved to be so kind and helpful to me, making the best of the situation with not just online lectures but also holding themed online events for us. Later on I was finally able to study on campus. Tutors of the EAS courses gave many opportunities to deepen my knowledge of Japan with insightful lectures, enjoyable readings, as well as interesting field trips. Particularly memorable for me is the class about Environmental History, which introduced me to new perspectives regarding historical developments.

During my time in Japan I made precious friends with both International and Musashi students. Thanks to Musashi University and its tutors, there was always a place and time to bond, be it in the classroom, on campus or during joined field trips throughout Greater Tokyo Area and beyond. I made many fond memories. With great joy, I think back to the excursion to Kamakura or the skiing trip near Echigo-Yuzawa. Being on campus and taking part in many different activities helped me also to get a better grasp of Japanese language. I feel that having been able to live in Tokyo for a year broadened my horizon on an academic but more importantly on a personal level.

I am forever grateful for the time I had at Musashi, to the staff that gave their best to help with everything from "A" as accommodation, to "W" as whatever was on my mind, for all the people I got to know and the things I experienced during this exchange program."

“ The EAS program offers a great range of courses about Japan and East Asia. All courses provide the students with essential information about politics, business, culture, society, history and international relationship on a high level of education. The courses helped me deepen my understanding and knowledge of Japan and Asia. Musashi University even offered a course in cooperation with a former ambassador which was a great experience for all of us. I was happy to have the chance to take part in courses that my home institution did not offer.

Having lectures in English also made me rethink my future plans. I now would like to continue my Master studies (in Japanese) at an English university. Before my year at Musashi I was not sure if I could follow courses in English and if I could have conversations with English students. Studying in Japan helped me to get more confidence in speaking English and Japanese and also to challenge new experiences. Nowhere else I could have had the chance to meet so many students from various places and to find friendships all around the world that still exist today.”
